ARTDISH MAGAZINE - SPRING 2010

Works from the Virginia and Bagley Wright Collection were on view recently at Seattle's Wright Exhibition Space in the exhibition "Big is Better." Seattle arts writer Matthew Kangas explores the historical context of the featured works in the Collection's exhibit, noting the critical influences and impulses Virginia and Bagley Wright had on shaping and building their collection when they lived in New York. Further, Kangas explains how their collection extended their own influence on contemporary art appreciation in the Pacific Northwest since the 1960s - 1970s. Read more from his essay When Painting Became Sculpture: 3 American Art Critics and the Virginia and Bagley Wright Collection (Artdish Magazine, Spring 2010).
