POLAR INERTIA

Polar Inertia - journal of nomadic and popular culture explores urban spaces and the networks that define contemporary cities. Published online as a bi-monthly, the site features photography series and essays documenting topics about the urban environment. Editor at large M. Yarnow writes that the journal's research "provides a basis from which to explore the potential for alternative proposals for urban development informed from the daily realities of the city." Currently featured on the site are profiles on yurts, iconic new construction in Beijing, and Oregon timber mill site closures. A forthcoming book is also due soon.
